On Ocober 26, 1916, The Pittsburgh Press reported on a possible deal for the Engineer Society of Western Pennsylvania to puchase the Westinghouse estate “Solitude” and turn it over to the city for a park.
It was two years after both George and Marguerite had died, and the transaction took another two years to come together.
