George Westinghouse died on March 12, 1914. The following day in The New York Times, this three-column remembrance of him ran on page three.

In addition to numerous details about the man and his accomplishments, the article is evidence of the high esteem in which Westinghouse was held.

A more readible version of the remembrance appears beneath the facimile, as well as a subsequent account of Westinghouse’s funeral which occurred three days later.

Four days later, on March 17, 1914, The Times covered Westinghouse’s Funeral at Woodlawn Cemetary.
